How the protection works, and the thesis behind $DIBS.
How the protection works
Dibs is a launch layer for pump.fun that makes copying a fresh launch impossible for 3 hours, whether the original launched through Dibs or directly on pump.fun.
Connect your wallet
Non-custodial from the first click. Phantom connects, you sign, we never touch your keys or your SOL.
Enter the coin identity
Name, ticker, X link, website and image. Each field is checked live against every launch from the last 3 hours: Dibs launches AND every coin launched on pump.fun itself.
Green ticks, ready to go
Fuzzy name matching and image similarity catch near-copies, not just exact ones. All clear and the create button unlocks.
Live on pump.fun
The coin deploys straight to pump.fun and shows up here, protected for the next 3 hours.
The details
pump.fun launches are covered too
Dibs runs a shadow registry of every coin launched anywhere on pump.fun, ingested within about a minute of creation. Copying a fresh pump.fun launch through Dibs is blocked exactly like copying a Dibs launch. Nothing in the ecosystem can be vamped here.
What counts as a copy
Near-identical names, names containing a protected name, one-character ticker edits, matching website or X links, and images that are visually similar, including mirrored, cropped or re-compressed versions of a protected image.
The 3-hour window
Protection starts the moment a coin launches and lasts 3 hours, the window where sniping actually happens. A launch attempt that is never signed only holds its identity for 15 minutes.
Enforced in the database
The conflict check runs inside the registry itself under a lock, so it cannot be bypassed by calling the API directly and two identical launches cannot slip through at the same moment.
Wallet safety
Every transaction is inspected in your browser before your wallet signs it. Anything touching a program outside the pump.fun set is rejected automatically.
Cashback launches
Every Dibs coin is a pump.fun holder-rewards coin: the holder-rewards program is the permanent creator, so creator fees are paid out to holders.
Coming soon
More launch modes are on the way: dev rewards (creators keep a share of fees), stock pairings (launches paired to tokenized stocks) and charity coins (fees routed to a verified cause).
Dibs ($DIBS)
Memecoins have always been competitive, but the problem is no longer just finding the right coin early. It's getting increasingly difficult to tell whether the coin you're buying is even the original launch.
The second a strong ticker, narrative or piece of content starts gaining attention, vamps appear. Same name. Same ticker. Same image. Same links. Sometimes they're deployed within seconds of the original, purely to intercept volume and farm the attention someone else created. The result is unnecessary PvP: liquidity gets fragmented across copies, traders enter the wrong contract, communities are split before they even form.
usedibs.dev is built around a simple idea: the original launch should have time to establish itself before somebody can immediately vamp it. When a coin is created through Dibs, its identity is protected for the first 3 hours. And because Dibs also watches every launch happening directly on pump.fun, the same shield covers the whole ecosystem, not just our own board.
$DIBS isn't trying to remove competition from memecoins. The difference is between competing with an idea and simply copying it fast enough to steal its launch. Dibs introduces a temporary protection layer around launch identity, giving original launches a short window where originality actually means something. $DIBS launched through the same protected pipeline the platform provides to everyone else. The project is its own first proof of concept.
The memecoin market doesn't need another place to launch the same coin. It needs a better way to establish which launch came first.
